Temperature Abuse Inspection Report:

 

     During inspection, we found that by using one’s fist as a hammer, it was very easy to break up the clumping so that the shrimp became IQF.  Since there were five inner seal packets of shrimp in each carton, it would require quite a bit of labor in order to break up the clumping. As far as the crystallization was concerned, this was basically fairly minor and it was our opinion that if this work was done then the shipment could be sold without any problems.

 

     Subsequent to this inspection, we again spoke with Dan Finch who was in agreement that the shrimp could probably be sold after this remedial work.  On the other hand since the damage was relatively minor, they might be able to sell it as is at a discount. We are presently making inquiries as to which alternative might be the best.
